At GDQuest, we respect your privacy and your data.
This document describes the data the GDQuest web platform ("Website") gathers about you, how we may use it, and how you can download or delete that information, in compliance with the European GDPR law. It also details our use of cookies.
The Website relies on third-party services, like Stripe or PayPal for payments, that may collect some information about you.

Data collected

The Website collects the necessary data to allow you to buy products, access your products, show you your progress as you follow courses, and allow you to ask questions and get support through our community.
The Website stores the following data:
  • Email.
  • Account creation date.
  • The products and courses you've purchased.
  • Information we're legally required to collect for payment: address, full name, and if you're a company needing to waive out Value-Added Tax (VAT) on orders, your VAT number.
  • The invoice or receipts of your purchases, so you can find your past orders in your user dashboards. These invoices detail your purchase and notably allow us to process refunds quickly.
  • User-created data like community threads and replies, images or files uploaded to the community.
  • Course progress, such as the list of lessons and practices you've completed.
  • Your payment ID, provided by the payment provider, namely Stripe or PayPal. This is used for payment, to refund purchases, and address payment-related issues.
Payment data will be stored by the payment provider that you use at checkout, namely Stripe or PayPal, and falls under their respective privacy policy.
We also use anonymized and GDPR-compliant metrics provided by Plausible Analytics to get insights such as:
  • How many times a given page was visited.
  • Where it was visited from.
We use these anonymized metrics to improve the Website, and they are publicly available on the following website: https://plausible.io/gdquest.com

Where the data is stored

The Company uses two services to store the data and provide worldwide access: Vercel, and Supabase. These services power the Website and provide access to all users worldwide.
As a result, user data will be stored both within and outside of the European Union.

Duration

Your data is stored until you request its removal or delete your account.

How to access and delete your data

You can download your data and delete your account anytime in your account settings:
  1. Click on your avatar or character icon at the top-right of the website.
  2. Click on settings.
  3. Click on Download My Data to download your data and on Delete Account to delete your account.

Use of cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your web browser used to store data. On this platform, we use cookies exclusively for essential website features.
We use the following cookies:
  • Authentication: to keep you logged in while browsing the website.
  • Your preferences: we use a cookie to remember your light or dark theme setting, and to remember which popup windows you closed.
  • For logging: logging is the process of storing information about what occurs on the server that powers the website. It is used to detect and solve bugs, like a payment-related issue or an error message you encounter while browsing the website.
Cookies are stored for 7 days, unless you manually delete them through your web browser's features.

How we use your data

We use the data listed above and cookies to make the platform function.
We do not share or sell any of the data you provide on this platform outside of it. We may use your data to calculate anonymized metrics to improve our service, such as seeing the percentage of users who have completed a given course, or the percentage of users who skip a given lesson in a course.
We may only access and use your personal information on your explicit request, to provide refunds, resolve an issue with an order, or generally assist you with an issue encountered on the platform.

If you find that a service violates personal data protection rules, you have the right to file a complaint to the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL, or french data protection authority in English).
